OUR STORY
VIVE Hair Society is more than just a hair salon in Kailua — it’s a space rooted in purpose, resilience, and transformation. The word “VIVE” comes from the Latin vivere, meaning “to live.” And that’s exactly what this space was built for — not just to work or get your hair done, but to truly live: boldly, authentically, and in community.
Founded by licensed cosmetologist Jackie Lucas, VIVE was born from a journey of growth, reinvention, and conscious living. Jackie began her career early — graduating high school with her cosmetology license at the age of 17. With over 15 years of experience, she spent 8 of those years managing a thriving salon in Ohio, where she developed her passion for business leadership, team culture, and client experience.
Over the years, Jackie has had the opportunity to train in places like Miami, Chicago, New York City, and Italy — experiences that expanded her perspective and deepened her love for Davines and their approach to sustainable beauty.
After relocating to Hawai‘i, she immersed herself in the small business scene — helping launch and support multiple local businesses across coworking, wellness, beauty, and event spaces. These experiences, while expansive and fulfilling, also exposed her to the emotional toll of overextending without alignment.
That period of reflection, burnout, and redirection became the seed for something new: VIVE.
VIVE Hair Society was never meant to be a typical salon. It’s a collective of independent beauty professionals — stylists, injectors, estheticians, and service providers — each running their own business, side-by-side in a shared space that prioritizes creativity, freedom, and collaboration. It’s a space where you can be your full self — whether you're behind the chair or in it.
Located inside The Garden at Boardroom, VIVE sits at the heart of Kailua’s only outdoor venue — surrounded by a coffee shop, cocktail bar, live music, and community energy. It’s a place where connection happens naturally and your experience goes beyond the mirror.
